Bayern Munich chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen has expressed confidence that England captain Harry Kane will sign a new contract with the German champions, with negotiations reportedly approaching their final stage.

Dreesen confirmed on Wednesday that both parties were working through the remaining details of an agreement that would extend the striker’s stay beyond his current contract, which expires in June 2027.

“I’m very positive! We are working on the details. Harry is fantastic, we’re proud to have the Ballon d’Or winner,” Dreesen said.

The proposed extension is expected to keep Kane at the Allianz Arena until at least 2029, although the club has yet to announce a completed deal.

Bayern determined to retain their star striker

Kane joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 and has become one of the club’s most influential players, consistently delivering goals across domestic and European competitions.

His performances have helped Bayern secure major domestic honours, while his scoring record has further strengthened his standing among Europe’s leading forwards.

The 33-year-old has also expressed satisfaction with life in Munich, with both the player and club previously indicating their desire to continue working together.

An agreement in principle was reportedly reached earlier in October, with the remaining contractual documents undergoing final checks.

Ballon d’Or triumph adds to Kane’s remarkable year

The contract discussions come after Kane’s outstanding campaign earned him the 2026 Men’s Ballon d’Or, adding one of football’s most prestigious individual honours to his achievements.

His prolific form for Bayern and England has reinforced his importance to both sides, making the prospect of a long-term extension a priority for the German club.

Bayern are hopeful that the remaining details will be resolved soon, allowing the striker to continue leading their attack in the coming seasons.

For now, the club’s comments point to progress in negotiations, but the extension will not be official until the agreement is finalised and signed.
