An old video showing FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha dancing together has resurfaced online, sparking fresh political conversations following a dramatic court ruling involving Governor Hope Uzodimma and the 2027 Imo West senatorial ticket.
The footage, which captures the two politicians sharing a lively moment at a public gathering, has attracted renewed attention as political tensions intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The renewed interest follows a Federal High Court ruling in Abuja on Thursday, October 29, 2026, which favoured Okorocha in the dispute over the APC senatorial ticket for Imo West and directed INEC to replace Uzodimma’s name with Okorocha’s.
The decision has generated controversy because the APC had previously recognised Uzodimma as its candidate, while INEC had also maintained that the official primary results submitted to it favoured the incumbent governor. The dispute has therefore raised questions about the party’s candidate selection process and the legal battle surrounding the ticket.
Adding another layer to the political drama, Okorocha has criticised Uzodimma’s political influence in Imo State and announced plans to establish a Rainbow Coalition to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Wike has also featured prominently in recent political discussions surrounding coalition-building, making the resurfaced footage particularly interesting to observers.
However, the old dancing video does not establish any connection between Wike and the court’s decision. Its renewed circulation reflects the growing public interest in the political developments surrounding Imo State and the ruling party.
With the 2027 elections approaching, the unfolding dispute could have significant implications for political alliances and the APC’s preparations in the South-East.
THE BIG QUESTION: Is this simply an old video gaining fresh attention, or does it capture a political relationship Nigerians should pay closer attention to?
