Big Brother Naija star Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has made fresh allegations about the former relationship between fellow reality stars Segun “Sheggz” Olusemo and Bella Okagbue, claiming that Sheggz physically abused Bella during their four-year relationship.
Phyna made the allegations after Sheggz announced that his relationship with Bella had ended in January 2026, citing issues involving trust and respect that he said he could not overlook when considering marriage.
Phyna claims she witnessed an incident
According to Phyna, she was at Bella’s home on one occasion when Sheggz returned early in the morning.
She alleged that Bella followed him upstairs, after which she heard noises coming from the room. Phyna said she went to check what was happening but received no response.
She claimed Bella later came downstairs appearing distressed, with her hair scattered and her eyes being cleaned.
Phyna said she asked Bella whether Sheggz had beaten her, but Bella initially denied that anything had happened. She also claimed she had earlier heard Bella shouting, “Sheggz, you’ll kill me.”
Phyna further alleged that Bella later told her that Sheggz had assaulted her because Phyna was staying at the house at the time.
Allegation of controlling behaviour
Phyna also accused Sheggz of attempting to control Bella’s friendships.
She claimed that Sheggz did not want Bella to maintain certain friendships, including her friendship with Phyna.
According to Phyna, there was a period when she and Bella stopped communicating, which she attributed to Sheggz allegedly telling Bella to distance herself from her.
She further claimed that Bella often returned from dates with Sheggz upset and crying because of what she described as disrespectful treatment in public.
Sheggz previously denied assault allegations
The allegations have been disputed by Sheggz.
Following the renewed controversy surrounding his breakup with Bella, Sheggz reportedly denied physically assaulting his former partner and described allegations of domestic violence against him as false.
He has also given his own account of the relationship’s breakdown, saying it ended in January 2026 because of trust and respect issues.
Phyna defends Bella
Phyna also rejected claims circulating online that Bella cheated on Sheggz.
She said Bella was not desperate to get married, arguing that her friend simply wanted to settle down at the appropriate time.
The allegations have since generated significant discussion among BBNaija fans, with social media users debating the competing accounts surrounding the former couple.
However, the allegations made by Phyna have not been independently established, and Sheggz has denied the accusation of physical abuse.
