The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has opened its recruitment process for eligible Nigerians seeking to join the service, with applicants required to complete the process through the official recruitment platform.

Interested candidates are advised to carefully review the requirements for their preferred category before submitting an application. The NAF conducts recruitment through different entry routes, including the Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) for airmen and airwomen and the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) for qualified professionals.

For BMTC recruitment, the NAF recruitment portal states that non-trades applicants are generally required to be between 18 and 22 years old, while trades applicants are generally required to be between 18 and 25 years old. Applicants must also meet the prescribed educational, medical, physical and other requirements for the particular recruitment exercise.

The NAF also lists DSSC as an entry route for degree and HND holders in specified professional fields. The general age range for DSSC applicants is 20 to 32 years, although specific recruitment announcements may provide additional requirements.

Applicants are required to provide accurate information and valid credentials during registration. The NAF has repeatedly warned that recruitment is conducted without payment of fees and that applicants should be cautious of individuals or platforms claiming to offer recruitment slots in exchange for money.

The official NAF recruitment portal should be used whenever a recruitment exercise is announced. Applicants are also advised to rely on official NAF announcements for application deadlines, eligibility criteria, screening arrangements and other recruitment updates.

The NAF recruitment portal currently indicates that no new recruitment exercise is ongoing, while the previous BMTC 46/2025 exercise has proceeded to the selection and training stage. Prospective applicants are therefore advised to monitor official announcements for the opening of the next application window.
