Nollywood actor Alesh Sanni has expressed disappointment over the wave of tributes from celebrities following the death of actress and filmmaker Allwell Ademola.
Sanni questioned the sudden outpouring of public sympathy, pointing out that some of those now sharing posts about the late actress allegedly did little to support her work while she was alive.
In a post shared on social media, the actor wondered why celebrities who rarely promoted Ademola’s movies were quick to announce and mourn her passing online.
He also expressed concern about how rapidly news of her death spread, noting that the information had reportedly circulated on social media less than 30 minutes after her passing.
Sanni argued that the entertainment industry should place greater emphasis on celebrating and supporting colleagues while they are still alive rather than waiting until their deaths to publicly acknowledge them.
