Nigeria’s Falconets have booked their place in the Round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after dismantling New Caledonia 10-1 in their final Group F fixture in Poland.
The emphatic victory at the Stadion Miejski ŁKS Łódź lifted Nigeria to second place in the group with four points, behind leaders Spain, and ensured their progression to the knockout stage.
The Falconets wasted little time asserting their dominance. Ramotalahi Kareem opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 17th minute before Rebecca Adegbemile doubled Nigeria’s advantage two minutes later.
Seimeyeha Akekoromowei made it 3-0 in the 23rd minute, while Kareem struck again four minutes later to complete a dominant first-half display and give Nigeria a 4-0 lead at the break.
Nigeria continued their onslaught after the restart, with Winner David scoring in the 60th minute. Kareem then completed her hat-trick four minutes later to make it 6-0.
Tosin Rafiu added Nigeria’s seventh goal in the 70th minute, while Adegbemile scored her second three minutes later.
