President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed his condolences to Chief Kenneth Bie-aa Vikel Naade Kobani following the death of his mother, Mrs Rosemary Titi Kobani.

In a condolence message issued on October 21, 2026, the President extended his sympathies to the Kobani family and residents of Goi and Bodo City in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State over the loss.

Tinubu described the deceased as a woman known for her kindness, compassion and generosity, noting that her care and influence extended beyond her immediate family.

The President also commended her resilience, recalling how she continued to show strength for more than three decades following the painful loss of her husband in the tragic events surrounding the deaths of the Ogoni 13.

He acknowledged the profound pain associated with losing a mother, describing her absence as irreplaceable and urging the bereaved family to find comfort in the memories they shared with her.

Tinubu prayed that God would grant the family the strength to bear the loss and comfort everyone affected by the tragedy.

He also prayed for the peaceful repose of Mrs Kobani’s soul, expressing hope that her memory would continue to inspire her family and community.

The President’s message comes as the Kobani family and members of the Gokana community mourn the loss of their loved one.
