Thousands of political supporters and stakeholders are expected to gather in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as the Nyesom Wike-backed Rainbow Coalition prepares to unveil its preferred candidates for the 2027 general elections.
The event is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, October 27, at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, with activities expected to begin at 10:00 a.m.

Tinubu’s Re-election Bid at the Centre of the Alliance
The coalition, associated with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Its spokesperson in Rivers State, Chibike Ikenga, said the gathering would provide an opportunity for members of the participating political groups to demonstrate their unity and endorse candidates supported by the alliance.
The coalition has also called on its supporters to mobilise voters across the state, from the presidential contest to legislative elections.
Political Realignments Gather Momentum
The development comes amid continuing political realignments in Rivers State, where politicians from different parties have been working together under the Rainbow Coalition platform.
The alliance has presented itself as a vehicle for political cooperation, peace and development, while its leaders have urged supporters to rally behind its preferred candidates.
