The Ogun State Police Command has recovered a stolen, unregistered Lexus ES350 saloon car in Ondo State following an intelligence-led investigation into an armed robbery incident in the state.

The red luxury vehicle was reportedly snatched by suspected armed robbers at about 2:00 a.m. on September 15, 2026, in the Ogijo area of Sagamu Local Government Area, Ogun State.

Following a report of the incident, the Officer-in-Charge of the command’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Squad, SP Obeh Eneye, directed operatives to investigate the case and pursue available leads to recover the vehicle and identify those responsible.

The police subsequently traced the vehicle to Ondo State through sustained investigative efforts. SWAT operatives recovered the car and transported it to the Ogun State Police Command.

The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the development, noting that investigations were continuing to apprehend other suspects connected with the robbery and recover any additional stolen property.

The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Bode Ojajuni, commended the officers for their diligence and professionalism. He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to intelligence-driven policing, the recovery of stolen property and the prosecution of offenders.

Ojajuni also urged vehicle owners to register their vehicles properly and display valid number plates, explaining that proper registration helps law enforcement officers establish ownership, identify vehicles and trace stolen property.

He further encouraged residents to report suspicious activities promptly and provide credible information that could assist the police in preventing crime and protecting lives and property.

Although the vehicle has been recovered, the police investigation remains ongoing as efforts continue to bring the remaining suspects to justice.
