A Ghanaian court has reportedly remanded Harold Duodu Norman, the estranged husband of fashion personality Nana Akua Addo, for two weeks and granted her custody of their two daughters amid an ongoing domestic abuse case.
The development follows proceedings involving the couple, whose marital dispute has attracted widespread attention in Ghana and beyond. Reports indicate that the case has been adjourned to November 3, 2026, for further proceedings.
Nana Akua Addo, whose real name is Rosemond Akua Adobea, reportedly petitioned the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service on August 20, accusing her husband of physical, emotional and economic abuse.
According to the police, Norman was arrested at his residence on August 27 to assist with investigations and was subsequently granted police enquiry bail with two sureties.
He was scheduled to appear before the court on October 7, but his lawyer informed investigators that he had been admitted to hospital and could not attend. Police investigators reportedly visited the hospital to verify the claim.
The matter has since progressed to another court appearance, with reports indicating that Norman was remanded for two weeks and custody of the couple’s daughters granted to their mother. The precise terms of the custody arrangement have not been independently confirmed through an official court statement.
The dispute came into public focus after videos and other recordings purportedly involving the couple circulated on social media, prompting concern about the welfare of Nana Akua Addo and the children.
Her lawyers previously asked media organisations and members of the public to stop sharing leaked footage involving the family, particularly material showing a minor, while noting that the matter was before the relevant authorities. Norman has denied assaulting his wife, according to earlier reports.
The Ghana Police Service has said it is working with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to ensure that welfare support is provided to Nana Akua Addo and her children.
The case remains before the court, and the allegations against Norman have yet to be determined through the judicial process.
